Week of winners around the world for Go Racing

New Zealand-based syndicators Go Racing have had four winners across three countries in the last six days.

On Saturday in Australia the Chris Waller-trained duo of Sir Zino and Shibili won in Queensland and the Lisa Latta-trained Diss Is Dramatic was successful in New Zealand. Then on Thursday night Je Zous was an impressive winner in Ireland for trainer Joseph O’Brien.

Ridden by former champion apprentice jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle, Je Zous raced wide without cover throughout and still managed to race away from the field being eased down on the line to win by one and a quarter lengths.

“She jumped good from the gates and there was plenty of competition for the lead in the first couple of furlongs,” Browne McMonagle said.

“Once we hit the rising ground then everyone got into position, and they stacked up and I was wide so I just let her relax around the outside of them. She travelled really well and was comfortable into the straight. She lengthened good and hit the line really well.

“She’s improved plenty from her first start and hopefully she can keep on progressing, but it was a good way to get her off the mark.”

Trainer Joseph O’Brien reported to Go Racing’s Albert Bosma that he was impressed with the run and that she would now step up to stakes company.

“She’ll certainly get further than the mile,” Bosma, who purchased the daughter of Zoustar out Jessie Jane from the Arqana Breeze Up sale in France earlier this year, said. “While she’s by Zoustar she’s bred to get over 2400m so it’s pretty exciting times for her and her owners.”

Jes Zous is the latest of a trio winning horses that were purchased by Go Racing to be trained by O’Brien in Ireland as young horses before joining the Australian stable of Chris Waller.

“We’ve now had three winners with Joseph,” Bosma said. “Up and Under and Etna Rosso are both stakes horses and now Je Zous looks like a stakes horse too. Soul of Spain is the fourth one and he debuts at the Curragh tomorrow over 1800m.”

Go Racing have an unbeatable record buying horses from Europe to Race in Australia with million dollar earner Skyman, seven-time winner Shibli, stakes winner Al Aabir, seven-time winner Otyrar, four-time winner Chernak and three-time winner Mutamanni among their most resent successes.

They will be active at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale later this month and welcome those wanting to be a part of their enormously successful European Import programme to register their interest by phoning 0508 GORACING (0508 467224) or emailing albert@goracing.co.nz.
